Living butterflies in Betliar

What is it about?

A geodome-shaped greenhouse with a diameter of 6 meters filled with live tropical butterflies from all over the world. Come see hundreds of flying exotic butterflies. We keep the exposition fresh by adding new species (changing the species variety) regularly. Among the permanent residents is the magnificent blue Morpho, which is accompanied by many other beautifully colored butterflies, like exotic swallowtails, or the world's largest butterfly Attacus atlas – if you are lucky, you may spot one.

This is unique opportunity to closely watch the butterflies as they feed, fly around you, or even land on you to rest. You can witness their life cycle as some will hatch from their pupae right in front of your eyes.

The greenhouse is covered with protective foil to maintain the tropical climate – above 25 degrees Celsius but you can visit even on a rainy day.

You can bring your camera free of charge. With a bit of luck, the butterflies will land right on top of you, and you can take a picture with them.

The entry fee is voluntary with recommended amount of:

3€ per person

2€ per child

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
